The Hawks defeated Catholic Central 2-0 on FHE Soccer Senior Night.

Before the game, Seniors Jesse Aronoff, Yewhanes Frezghi, Spencer Hansen, Alex Harrison, Tyler Suing, and Nick VanderMyde were honored in their final home game.  Also recognized were foreign exchange students Carlos Arranz (Spain) and Robin Rose (Germany).

After the first whistle, the Hawks maintained much of the possession and created scoring chances against Catholic Central, but were held off the board until the 11th minute.  Nick VanderMyde sent a header to the far post, where Brendan McCoy was waiting to finish with a header of his own past the Cougar goalkeeper.

The Cougars played a low-risk defensive style of play with 10 men behind the ball.  The Hawks continued to fire away and converted on McCoy's 2nd goal of the game in the 67th minute following a Matt DeVries through ball.

With the win, the Hawks move on to the Conference Tournament Semi-Final on Monday at Caledonia.  JV kicks off at 5pm with the Varsity to follow.  The team moves to 11-3-2 on the season.

In the early game, the JV Hawks played a strong game and got a 3-1 win.
