The Hawks hosted one of the top Division 1 teams in the state on Saturday morning and pulled out a 1-0 victory.

FHE played with brilliant defensive shape and worked hard to reduce scoring opportunities for the visiting Rams.

The game was a stalemate until the 57th minute when Kosti Moni sprung Brendan McCoy with a great penetrating ball.  McCoy calmly finished to put the Hawks up 1-0.

The Hawks were equal to the task for the remaining 23 minutes.  Defenders Ryan Scott, Tyler Suing, Spencer Hansen, Jesse Aronoff, Mitchell Schmidt, Sam Decker, and Cam Moule all played an important part in keeping the Rams outside the 18.  Goalkeeper Nick Hopkins recorded the shutout with a 5-save performance.  Credit also to the Hawk midfield and forwards for their tireless work in transition.

The Hawks move to 10-3-2 on the season and will host the first round of conference tournament play on Wednesday evening.  JV will kickoff at 5pm with Varsity to follow.  The opponent is to be announced.

The JV Hawks dropped a 0-7 game in the opener.
