The 2011 Hawks Men’s Soccer team opened its season on 8/19 at Greenville HS.

FHE was the first to capitalize on a chance in the 11^th minute.  Freshman Kosti Moni began the attack with a fantastic diagonal ball across the field to Jeremy Ireland who settled and served to Senior Nick VanderMyde for the finish.

Just 1:32 later, Jeremy Ireland recorded another assist with a diagonal ball behind the Greenville defense, where Brendan McCoy would run on and finish his 1v1 chance with the keeper.

Senior Alex Harrison got in on the act with his goal in the 20^th minute as goalkeeper Nick Hopkins struck a beautiful drop-kick behind the Greenville defense onto the foot of Harrison.

Greenville gained its composure and struck at its attacking end in the 25^th minute on a 1v1 chance with Hopkins to bring the score to 3-1.

A wide open Nate Loree scored in the 70^th minute for FHE as Brendan McCoy would slide the ball across the 6-yard box for the finish.

One minute later, Freshman Kosti Moni would finish from the 6 on a beautiful layoff from McCoy to round out the scoring.

The 5-1 victory put the Hawks at 1-0-0 to begin the season and will host perennial powerhouse East Kentwood on 8/23. 

The JV Hawks fell to Greenville by a score of 1-5.  Jake Stevens scored the lone Hawks goal and Dalton Kause played well in goal.
