The Hawks hosted Grand Rapids Catholic Central on September 28 in an OK Gold conference match.  Prior to the game, the 11 Hawks Seniors and their parents were recognized for their outstanding efforts and service to the program.

When the game began, the Hawks went on the offensive as Catholic Central sought to fill up its defensive penalty area with numbers and look for opportunities to counter-attack.  FHE tallied 10 shots at goal in the first half, but were unable to convert, going into halftime in a 0-0 tie.

In the second half, the Hawks struggled to possess and enter the attacking third with numbers.  As a result, Catholic began to get more counter-attacking opportunities and finally broke through in the 59th minute as Conor Hogan put a shot between the Eastern goalkeeper and his near post for a 1-0 lead.

The Hawks attacked frantically, but were turned away time after time in the attacking third of the field, resulting in a 1-0 final in favor of Catholic Central.

FHE falls to 7-3-2 overall (3-2-0 in the OK Gold).  The Hawks travel to Caledonia on Thursday for another Gold contest.
