Forest Hills Girl's Varsity Co-op Comes Out Swinging in 2011 Season

Under new Varsity coaching staff, the Forest Hills co-op Varsity team has come off the blocks with a 3-0 record. With their first two games against East Lansing and defending DII state champions Okemos cancelled due to frigid temps, the girls were ready to play on the 30^th of March against Northview.  Forest Hills pulled ahead with a 28-3 win.

            Following a long Spring Break recess FH traveled to Waverly on the 12^th. After being down at the half, the Hills came back to win it 15-12. There were 14 ground balls, 17 shots on goal and a focused defense in the second half to bring them back from behind.

            Forest Hills had its season opener at home against West Ottawa on the 13^th. 17 of the players on the team scored goals and FH senior goalie Bree Slocum had 11 saves, going 79% in the net. Collectively the team racked up 30 ground balls, 10 take-aways and 18 turn overs to result in a 25-3 win.

            The Hills JV and Varsity squads will travel to Williamston-Haslett on the 15^th and will play East Grand Rapids on their home field at Forest Hills Eastern on Monday the 18^th.
