The FHE Soccer team hit the road for the OK Gold Third Place Game and brought home a 2-1 win.

Junior Jessie Fatum scored her 16th goal of the season just 26 seconds into the game, a school record for fastest goal scored, on an assist from Morgan Goble.

However, the TK Trojans proved resilient, scoring the equalizer just 6 minutes later on a 1v1 with the Hawks goalkeeper.

The game then became a stalemate with most of the play in the middle third of the field until the 72nd minute.  Fatum struck a direct free kick off the crossbar and her fellow forward Jen Winkel was there to volley the rebound past the diving goalkeeper.

The Hawks defense stiffened for the remaining 8 minutes to preserve the win.

FHE Soccer finishes in 3rd Place in the OK Gold, its best finish in the conference since 2010.

The Hawks begin Districts play next week on Tuesday, May 29 versus Creston.  The game will be played at 5pm at Riverside Park (Monroe Street & 3-Mile). 

In the matinee, the Hawks JV fell to Middleville by a score of 5-0.
