The Hawks played the spoiler on Wednesday night at Aquinas College as GR Catholic Central celebrated Senior Night.

The Hawks jumped out to an early lead after Morgan Goble played a brilliant ball to the feet of Jessie Fatum, who beat her defender 1v1 and calmly finished in the 9th minute.

Fatum followed that goal four minutes later with a tremendous individual effort, dispossessing a Cougar defender and carrying the ball in for another finish.

Just before halftime, it was Jenna Winkel's turn on the scoresheet.  Goalkeeper Julia Schroeter cracked a punt that took a deflection and sprung Winkel for a 1v1 finish versus the Cougar goalkeeper.

The second half was a defensive stalemate, as the Cougars allowed just two shots at goal and the FHE defense held CC to zero shots.  Goalkeeper Julia Schroeter registered her first career shutout while her defense of Emily Smithson, Megan Hollingsworth, and Sara Cusack played solid matches.

Fatum's first goal was the 500th goal scored for the FHE Women's Soccer Program.  Evan Hills (FHE Class of 2008) scored the program's first goal on 4/13/2005 at Hamilton, just 55 seconds into the match, in a 2-0 win for the Hawks (also the program's first victory).

In the JV game, the Hawks fell by a score of 3-0.
