The FHE Soccer team traveled to Coopersville on Friday and pulled off a comeback win.

Coopersville got on the scoreboard first, scoring just 4:59 into the game, then settled in defensively.  The Hawks worked to come back and finally hit the net at the 18:42 mark, when Jessie Fatum buried a shot after a cross by Paige Lackey.

Coopersville again took the lead at 31:22 after a shot from distance, and carried that lead into halftime.

FHE came out hard in the 2nd half, but it was Coopersville who scored on a free kick from 20 yards to go up by a score of 3-1.

Despite the deficit, the Hawks continued to push forward in the attack, creating several good scoring chances, before Christina Elsholz scored her first goal of the season at the 58:55 mark after a service by Kelsey Jantz.

Just one minute later, Coopersville surrendered a penalty kick that was finished calmly by Jenna Winkel to equalize the score at 3-3.

Jessie Fatum completed the scoring at 64:17 on a cracker from 18 yards that found its way through traffic and into the net.

Juniors Christina Elsholz and Julia Schroeter filled in at goalkeeper for the Hawks and played well for the win. 

The Hawks move to 2-3-0 for the season and travel to Wayland for the OK Gold Conference opener on Wednesday.

In the early game, the Hawks fell to Coopersville by a score of 3-0, despite playing well and generating some quality attacks.
