BLOOMFIELD HILLS, Mich.- The Forest Hills Eastern boys tennis team finished 7th place overall out of 21 team represented at the 2024 MHSAA State Championships, held at Bloomfield Hills Cranbrook Kingswood over the weekend.
The 1-doubles team of J. Konwinski/W. Overbeek made the elite 8 after earning a first round bye, and defeating Goodrich. They'd fall to regional rival Petoskey.
At 2-doubles, N. Talla and E. Mast would advance to the final 4, after a first round bye, then defeating Stevensville Lakeshore, and Grand Rapids South Christian.
3-doubles, Kozal and Heymoss defeated OK White foe East Grand Rapids, before falling to top seeded Ann Arbor Greenhills.
Then at 4-doubles H. Overbeek and R. Worden also received a first round bye, and took down Haslett to go to the elite 8. They'd fall to 2-seed Country Day.
At the singles flights, E. Chiodini, H. Elms, J. Cavanaugh, and N. Murali all fought hard and had close matches, but fell in the first or second round of the tournament.
