Game Recap

The Hawks battled to a 2-1 overtime loss versus a talented Middleville TK team.

The Trojans, needing a win to earn a share of the OK Gold championship, found themselves trailing FHE 20 minutes into the match. Sophomore Rylee Michaels received the ball, drove hard to the goal versus several defenders, and struck a well-placed shot past the Trojan keeper.

Thornapple Kellogg equalized 13 minutes into the 2nd Half on a scramble in front of the goal following a corner kick.

The two teams played to a draw for the remainder of regulation and through the 1st overtime.

In the waning moments of the game, TK launched one final attack and scored the game-winner with 19 seconds remaining in the match.

FHE goalkeeper Braeleigh McCoy finished with 10 saves in the game. Some of the top performers for the Hawks include Liv Keller, Macy Hollingsworth, Dasha Everse, and Carly Kerkstra.

The Hawks begin Districts play on Tuesday with an away game versus East Grand Rapids. The game will be played at Mehney Field, alongside EGR Middle School. Kickoff is at 6:00pm.
